From: Paul Beech Subject: Official: Tori Married - So says Q. This is an article from the latest issue of Q magazine (The UK's music Monthly glossy) Amos Copies Herself Tori Amos clambered on top of a photocopier to create this Katerina Jebb picture for the artwork on her forthcoming, as yet untitled, album. "Picture This," Amos told Q. "There's a photocopy office, the fluorescent light is still buzzing and there I am snogging the massive machine in the corner. The only way you can stay on the machine is to have a piece of your body suctioned onto it. It takes seven minutes a picture." Due out in May, the album was recorded in Amos's 300-year-old Cornish barn, which she converted into a studio with her new husband, the album's engineer, Mark Hawley. END OF ARITICLE. most will know Mark as Tori's engineer of choice for her live work, along with Marcel Van Limbeek. On a lighter note, I just got front row tix for Sheffield City Hall. From: Michael.Solomon@chronicle.com Subject: Tori in 2-25-98 New York Times Tori is mentioned in an article in today's New York Times on Armand van Helden (nominee for Grammy's first Remixer of the Year.) It sounds like Tori was the key to his success: "If there's anything Van Helden does not need, it's offers to remix more songs. Since he turned Tori Amos' "Professional Widow" into a house anthem constructed out of two bites of Ms. Amos' vocals, he has been deluged with offers from everyone from Janet Jackson to the Rolling Stones. " The article is online at http://www.nytimes.com/yr/mo/day/news/arts/pop-life.html, but registration may be required. I love it when Tori makes my favorite paper... -- Michael

From: Intergalactic Garage Subject: NEW TORI SINGLE!!!! Dear Tori Fan - Still tracking the new Tori single! WEA UK tells us that it will be out in APRIL, but they still don't have a title for it nor can they tell us how limited the ltd EP may be. (The most accurate info we have about the new album (not from WEA UK) is it will be called "From the Choirgirl Hotel" and will be out in early May!!!!) Barring any absolutely strange development, both the stock CD-5 and the ltd CD-5 will be $8.99 on pre-order from Intergalactic Garage. If you remember last album - - and you ordered from another supplier - - you may remember that there weren't enough of the ltd CD single to go around. Many suppliers only received 2 or 3 copies and were unable to fill their pre-orders!!! Intergalactic Garage was able to fill HUNDREDS of pre-orders for the ltd and the stock copies. One rule: you must order at least one SET (ltd and unltd) before you can order multiple copies of the ltd EP. Order NOW!!! We won't charge you, or you won't have to pay, until we have the title, the official price, and the RELEASE DATE!!! But ordering NOW will put you in the que to insure that you don't miss out!!! Let me repeat: you won't be charged until everything is established about the release (and then you will be notified via this list that we will be charging your card for your pre-orders.) As the NEW TORI SEASON BEGINS, LET ME SAY THIS ABOUT INTERGALACTIC GARAGE: It doesn't seem to be common knowledge, but Intergalactic Garage is NOT a mega corporation, facelessly operating on the internet, delivering 'product' in baby pizza boxes. We're two people (give or take one part time person) who have been Tori fans since YKTR and have done everything we can to offer Tori fans the best ACCESS and the best PRICES on TORI COLLECTIBLES and STOCK Items. For each single, we service HUNDREDS of collectors. We are also THE SUPPLIER of Tori's official archive!!! (Check it out!!!) Unfortunately, some misunderstandings will occur when you are working with thousands of people as emotionally charged as tori fans are. If you will judge flames in the perspective of just how many Tori fans we work with, it will give you a better perspective of how hard we try to make everyone happy. (and, if you will read a flame from the perspective of how hard the flamer may be able to work with as a person!!! ;-) OR Come on out to the shop: 110 West German St, Shepherdstown, WV 25443 and meet Maura, then you'll get a better idea of just how extreme things have to get before someone has a problem with Intergalactic Garage. I know this is boring, but one more thing: I read on RDT the other day that our prices are not low!! Urgh!!! Check it out yourself!!! Sure, I can't beat fan trades, nobody can BUT we are usually WAY BELOW PRICES by our 'competitors' AND we actually DELIVER the STUFF!!! One more thing and I'll get off here: Intergalactic Garage became a mail order business to help fans get collectible stuff they couldn't get in their home town, most of our competitors became mail order shops simply to make money. Think about it, my friend.... And always remember: a collectible is a collectible because they are ltd and hard to get. We do run out of stock some times but historically we are very successful at filling every order we receive. Few shops can say that, especially those big corporate boys. btw This Tori Season is going to be MEGA!!! If you are interested in a very cool job in a very cool college town, Intergalactic Garage would like to talk to you!!! Sorry for this rant!!! We look forward to serving you soon!!! -Allan :-) PS Yes, we stil give rewards for good tips!!! go to http://www.igg.com

From: Mikewhy Subject: The REAL title for Tori's new album! Just saw this on Atlantic's web site. Turns MTV was wrong about the title of Tori's album. The real title is "from the choirgirl hotel." I guess we have to be a little more careful about accepting facts from MTV! :) "It's official. The highly-anticipated fourth album from Tori Amos is to be titled "from the choirgirl hotel." In stores May 5th, the release will be preceded by a series of intimate club dates across the country. The tour, which kicks off April 18th, will mark the first-ever performances by Tori with a full band. In addition, Tori will perform the first single from "... choirgirl hotel" live on CBS-TV's "Late Show With David Lettterman," April 10th. Following "Letterman," Tori is also scheduled to make a second network TV appearance on NBC-TV's "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" May 12th. Stay tuned for more details!"
